چکیده
Cardiovascular Dimensions in Patients With Intracranial Arteriovenous Malformation • The hemodynamics of 29 adult subjects with a congenital intracranial arteriovenous malformation were studied by radiocardiography. The cardiac index, heart rate, stroke index, systemic arterial pulse pressure and radiographical heart volume did not differ significantly from the normal. However, the total blood volume (P < 0.001) and the plasma volume (P < 0.05) were greater than normal. The radiocardiograms of 17 patients were analyzed by analogue computer. The right heart blood volume (P < 0.05) and the left heart blood volume (P < 0.02) were above normal, but of equal magnitude. The pulmonary blood volume did not differ from the normal. The same was true of the respective volumes as percentages of the total blood volume. The cardiopulmonary (P<0.01) and the peripheral (P < 0.005) blood volumes were greater than normal. The results indicate that the major circulatory consequence of a congenital intracranial arteriovenous malformation is an increased circulating blood volume. The size or the location of the malformation did not correlate with the hemodynamic parameters. Additional

Introduction:Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) is divided into two traumatic and non-traumatic categories. The present study sought to investigate the anatomical properties of non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage in Kerman, Iran. Method:A total of 305 non-traumatic ICH cases were chosen in Shafa medical center. Data from patients’ files and CT scan images, including demographic factors and type o...

Anesthetic management of intracranial arteriovenous malformation (AVM) poses multiple challenges to the anesthesiologist in view of its complex and poorly understood pathophysiology and multiple modalities for its treatment involving different sub-specialties. The diagnosis of AVM is based on clinical presentation as well as radiological investigation. Pregnant patients with intracranial AVM an...
متن کاملArteriovenous malformation, complications, and perioperative anesthetic management.
Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are the most common intracranial vascular malformation, with an estimated occurrence of 1:5000-1:2000 persons. The repair requires careful embolization, often followed by stereotactic radiosurgery and can also include open craniotomy. Preoperatively, patients may be healthy or dramatically unstable, as 30-50% of these cases present with acute cerebral hemorrha...

Endovascular embolization is being increasingly used to treat intracranial arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). However, we experienced two patients with retained microcatheters after AVM embolization using Onyx.

Background and Importance: Intracranial pial arteriovenous fistula is a recently described matter as a rare vascular malformation occurring in children. It is usually located in the subpial space in the intracranial cavity with a high-flow shunt. Case Presentation: Authors report on a 2-year-old child with intracranial pial arteriovenous fistula and progressive enlargement of he...
